God's mercy for the world

Learning about God's mercy at Easter, the first lived alongside Pope Francis. And it couldn't have been any different given the constancy  with which the Pontiff is searching to bring to the Christian perspective the announcement of the mercy which “always triumphs”, as he recalled in the Urbi et Orbi Message. The Pope from the central Loggia in the Vatican Basilica  — after having celebrated Mass in the square  —  recalled the areas of the world afflicted by conflict including the Middle East, various countries in Africa and Korean peninsula. His thoughts also went to the victims of the greed of those searching for easy gain, especially those involved in human trafficking, which according to the Pontiff is “the most extensive form of slavery in this 21st century”. The weakest are those who are in the greatest need of those who transform life into death and who know how to change “hatred into love, vengeance into forgiveness, war into peace”.
“Let us not close our hearts”, he said at the Vigil in the Basilica, “let us not lose confidence, let us never give up: there are no situations which God cannot change”. Then with his direct style he spoke to each one of us personally, he said, “Let the risen Jesus enter your life, welcome him as a friend, with trust: he is life!”. He repeated this concept on Monday, 1 April, at the recitation of the Regina Caeli:  “Christ has fully triumphed over evil once and for all”, but he said, we must “welcome this victory into our life and into the actual situations of history and society”.
