Solidarity and support for Oklahoma City
Solidarity and support for Oklahoma City
Washington, 23.
While
many Catholic organizations are aiding the families struck by the violent
tornado which devastated Oklahoma City, the bishops' conference assures the
people of their prayers and support. In a letter the President of the
conference, Cardinal Timothy Michael Dolan, Archbishop of New York, expressed
his solidarity to the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and to all those affected,
offering his prayers and support. “Our hearts ache with you”, reads the letter,
which also notes that the cardinal had previously telephoned the Archbishop of
Oklahoma City. The Cardinal wrote: “May the words of Jesus, 'Behold I am with
you always', and who calmed the storms, bring hope and comfort at this sensitive
moment in the history of your diocese which sadly has known great tragedy before
from other natural disasters, but which has always united in courageous and
loving efforts to restore hope to all”. The loss of family members and the
devastation of buildings, Cardinal Dolan continued, “impels us to stand with you
and all the good people of Moore both in prayer for comfort and in efforts for
disaster relief to ease the suffering of those whose lives have been affected by
this dreadful disaster”.fuente. http://www.osservatoreromano.va/portal/dt?JSPTabContainer.setSelected=JSPTabContainer%2FDetail&last=false=&path=/news/religione/2013/118q13-A-Oklahoma-City-solidariet--e-sostegno-ince.html&title=Solidarity%20and%20support%20for%20Oklahoma%20City&locale=en
